Assalamualaikum!

Mock teaching is coming soooooon!!!!!!!!! Ok forget that part >_<

Everyone was preparing their respective mock teaching notes, slides, lesson plan and son on. I was busy preparing myself too. Since I’m going to teach economics (and I’m the only one who teach economics).
And here time comes as I teach in the class. Well this different than presentation. Here right now you are teaching. So it’s 2 different things.
So during the mock teaching I choose microeconomics as the subject to teach.
Well…first I ask them what they know about economics. They answer it! They were being able to answer what is economics. So I proceed with a correct answer. Then I give them the definition of economics. After that I explain briefly and give example on the basic of economics which consists of scarcity, choice and opportunity cost.
Finish explaining, I proceed to explain efficiency and equity. Well that is the simple thing to explain by the way.
After that I get into the next slide and explain on what is factor of production and their income. Because each factor of production, the one contribute to production, have their own income.

The last part which gives out activities or handout, urgh… I feel like I screw up the mock teaching. I feel like .... its unspeakable and can’t find word that best suit that situation. I only know that I feel worst.

Assalamualaikum and a very good day I guess?
Rule and regulation. I kind of actually the type of person who follows rules, I mean in my house, house rule or religion rule, country law, as long it is a rules, I have to follow. That is just how I was brought up. Rules are absolutes. I always think up, why there must be a rules. Why? And I know that rules is to keep thing in order.
Indeed, as a student we don’t like rules. But still a rules is rules that must be follow.
So as we are talking about rules, in the class room there are rules to ensure everything are in order.  So in my class, actually I would like to impose a few rule (hope that I can do this later during my practical)
My ground rules:
  1.   If you want to be respected, respect other.
  2.        Never betrayed your friend
  3.     Respect me as a teacher and I will respect you as a student
  4.    Never give up, when you thought that is your limit, things actually just started.
  5.      Follow the above rules

Assalamuaikum and hi everyone!!

As time pass, mock teaching is coming. Time flies so fast that I did not feel it. When time I realise that it is going to exam, assignment due date soon. Well this is it huh, I guess all thus stress really, make people don’t feel anything huh. Well I read some article about student centred or student approach that were given by Madam Ng, our lecture.
Well that article sure is quiet long and it took me some time to read it. Student centred actually is a teaching method where by student study themselves rather than spoon feed by teacher. So if you experience where teacher just keep talking in front of the class, that is teacher centred.
From the article, title named “Navigating the bumpy road to centred instruction” (we have to answer forum in UNIEC =_=) it stated there is advantages and disadvantages in student centred. Well I see some teacher during my form 6 are student centred but it is actually a failed one and I ended up in tuitions centred for some particular subject. (I won’t tell you all what subject cause I score that 4.0 every semester beside than economics >_<)

Be curious, that's the term that always say by our lecture who is also a HOD. But I’m always reserved that curiosity kills the cats. (Shhh!! Those who read this don’t show to her oh!!)

Assalmualaikum and nice to meet you all!!

It is almost that day….my body is getting worse than I anticipated. I almost completely lost all the mood to do anything. The moment I’m typing this in my word now, I can’t find a word to type it. Remember in my #2 that I would tell the story behind this? Just a few more day and it will the 6th year......well let’s just skip that for a while. People are always wondering…am I right? What have you discovered throughout your 21 years living? I’m still searching for it and that is the topic of the day, what have I discover?

I only attend the Tuesday class so I will only type what have I discover on that day. Well I discover a lot of things. Have you ever thought that the theme of our power point can give impact on your presentation? The theme that we choose effect the colour and the wording that we choose. For example, the theme that we choose is dark, the colour that we must use on wording is a light or sharp colour. Do you know that, the handouts that were given by the teacher in class actually is to see how much we understand the topic?
In the handout, there are steps need to take to ensure that student so that the handouts are suitable to both fast and slow learners.
Back to the slide, although I have been presenting throughout this 3 semester, this week, I know some guidelines that can be used to apply better presentation.
Here are the guidelines that were given by our lecture,
  1. Fonts must be Arial, Calibri or Country Gothic (use only ONE)
  2.   Background colour black and white
  3.     Not too colourful themes and not too dull
  4.       If you are using transition, use Wipe or Appear
  5.       Make quiz or activities using power point in order to make the teaching more fun
  6.     Us animation to make the slide interesting (as long student understand)
  7.       Add picture

Assalamualaikum and hello to all of you!!!

Another day huh, again facing the office word really made my mind fly to other place (what am I dreaming actually?). Have you ever taught that actually doing class activity or class exercise could be very fun? I never taught that before. We all experience it back at school right. Teacher gives out hand out, and we do it right and then we pass to our teacher on the same class or in the next class. Well, in my pedagogy in education class, my eyes were open for the 1st time as our lecturer introduce to us a new way of giving activity.(There will no picture for this one hehe)

Have you ever heard of Kahoot or Brainrush? Well I prefer Kahoot for myself as it is very interesting to use. (Actually is really, really fun). Kahoot is a game based activity where we create the activity or question using it. Within a limited of time, the student has to answer the question given within a time limit. You see that, there is a time limit for each question and there is also point for student who answer correctly. So student can compete among themselves to get more answer and who score the highest point win. After the game we can see the student answer and know their understanding towards the subject teach. Well I have made my Kahoot question (laughing alone with a bad intention) and good luck answering my question.  The question I made using Kahoot is topic 2 in Microeconomics: demand and supply. So hope you enjoy it. Here is the link to my kahoot.

Learning Objective:
·         Understand the definition of demand and supply, law of demand and supply, and market demand and supply
·         Be able to demonstrate the demand and supply curve and table.

·         Define the equilibrium price, quantity, shortages and surplus in market demand and supply.

Assalamuailkum and hello guys!!

Yesterday one of my class got cancel (yeah!!!!). And once again I open up my word to type today reflection even though I can just type it directly in the blog…hmm well I’m just too lazy to do that thou. Well why I did not do it yesterday? As I mention above I’m just too lazy to do it. Well, what do you know, teaching can’t just stand at the front, facing the slides and teach, you need the skill and the abilities to really stand in front of the future generation and teach them. This is because even though a person might have the knowledge or the skill in a certain field, but when it comes to teaching it requires a certain skill and method to do so. And so that will be the topic of the day, teaching method.

One of the teaching method that were presented by my classmate is the problem solving method. Problem solving method is a way to understand the question by letting the student to solve the problem that they faced. When student is having difficulties, teachers can’t always spoon feed (a term that I learnt at here) the student or else when they are going to grow up. So the best way for student to gain new knowledge is by solving the problem itself. For instance, student have to move a huge rock from point A to point B which the distance is around 1km. So from here, student will think how to move the rock. They will try to solve the problem that standing in front them. Another teaching method that presented by another classmates is brainstorming. Before a student can answer the question, the student is required to brainstorm themselves. So by brainstorming, it is actually helping the student to get the idea of what the teacher or the lecture are going to teach.

One of the most ineffective teaching method is role play. Why? This because role play can be only use involve playing character such as history by replaying the past history but it can be use in most of the subject that is teach in the school.

Assalamuailkum and a very good morning to all (why suddenly so formal? -_-|||)

Today is another day where all of have their own routine. Student went to class, adult check in at their work place and so on. It already March the moment I type this in word document (I didn’t type it directly at blog). Time really flies huh. It’s almost 6 years huh. Do you want to know what story is that (hehe)? Well you will have chance to know that story if my body didn’t do stress and worn around that time because every year every time my body will go down (I won’t tell you specifically when is that day until time come). Now shall we move on to the topic of the day?

Misapplication during group discussion. That is the topic given by our dear lecture. Firstly, do you all what is misapplication during group discussion? Well basically is the things that all of us do it wrongly during a group discussion. I’m sure you all been through group discussion. So there few mistake or misapplication during group discussion and one of it is interruption. Most of the people (all of us) are easily distracted to their surrounding interruption such as sound, images etc.
The interruption always make the discussion stop half way. For example, a phone suddenly ringing, and the discussion stop at there for a moment and all the group will look at the source of the interruption. Another kind of interruption is member cut in during their speech or interrupt them with another suggestion. All member has chances to speak out but first we have to let other people finish their speech first. It is the basic courtesy that all people should have. The second one is endless talking. When one is talking on point that he or she know about it, it may be a one endless talk (somehow feel like someone is familiar with this). From a discussion change into a gossip, “borak kosong” and so on. So do please avoid this as it can become an endless talk that have no conclusion at all. Last but not least, try to reach a consensus agreement or conclusion. Normally speaking, most of the time is hard to reach a conclusion even though we had many times of group discussion. The problem is actually lies between the members. The members can not concession than the discussion will never have it conclusion and the work won’t be able to start at all. And that is one big problem.
Wow its almost lunch time and my tummies is ringing his bell (although I feel lazy to walk down). So I will end at here and see you at next blog reflection.
